Leslie W. Rogers, age 97, of Salem, died Friday, December 29th, 2017 at Salem Township Hospital. He was County Agriculture Advisor for University of Illinois Extension Service for 28 years, real estate salesman and appraiser. He was active in the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Eastern Star and American Legion and served on the Marion County Savings Bank Board of Directors. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Funeral service for Leslie Rogers will be held at ten Thursday morning at the Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem, with Denise Burke presiding. Burial in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from five to seven Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Salem Presbyterian Church or the Salem Masonic Lodge.

Leslie W. Rogers was born on April 17th, 1920 near Waltonville to Kirby Rogers and Goldie (Asbury) Rogers. He married Dorothy (Phillips) Rogers on June 26th, 1949 in Tuscola. She preceded him in death on December 24th, 2016.

Survivors include three children: Rosalie Rogers of Arlington, Texas; Wayne Rogers of Haltom City, Texas and David Rogers of Richardson, Texas.
