Iva M. Simmons, age 98 of Iuka, died Monday at Doctor's Health and Rehabilitation. She was a housewife and farm wife who was a member of the Donoho Prairie Christian Church and Donoho Prairie Quilters. Iva loved to quilt and cook.

Funeral services for Iva Maude Simmons will be held at ten Saturday morning at the Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem. Burial in the Donoho Prairie Cemetery in Kell. Visitation from six to eight Friday night. Memorials may be made to the Donoho Prairie Cemetery.

Iva Maude Simmons was born January 12th, 1919 in Cartter to Carl Prosise and Lola (Bryant) Prosise. She married Floyd 'Short' Simmmons on October 18th, 1937 in St. Louis. They were married 57 years at the time of Floyd's death.

Survivors include daughters: Virginia Littrell and husband Joe of Iuka and Dorothy Cox of Charleston; sons: Stanley Simmons of Cartter and James Simmons of Iuka; daughter-in-law: Cindy Simmons of Springfield; brother: Harvey Eldon Prosise and wife Sue of Salem; sister-in-law: Beulah Prosise of Rockford, 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Larry Simmons, daughters-in-law: Judy and Thelma Simmons; son-i-law: Wayne Cox and granddaughter: Lella Shaff.
