  • Stockbyte/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- Members of the New York Police Department rallied in support of Colin Kaepernick on Saturday as the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, who ignited controversy last season for sitting out the national anthem during games, remains unsigned heading into the NFL season.The gathering at Brooklyn Bridge Park featured roughly 80 officers, according to the New York Times. Kaepernick has not been signed by an NFL team this season, despite the belief of many football analysts that his talents would prove useful to teams that lack depth at the quarterback position.The unusual show of support from police comes as a second wave of protests, modeled after what Kaepernick did last season in the name of "black people and people of color," is building in the NFL.

  • Adam Glanzman/Getty Images(BOSTON) -- New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge has struck out in his 36th consecutive game, setting the record for the longest strikeout streak in a single season by any player.Boston Red Sox' Chris Sale struck out Judge in the top of the fifth inning Saturday.The record for consecutive games with a strikeout by a postion player was set on Thursday by Judge.Montreal Expos pitcher Bill Stoneman held the previous record by any player in 1971.Judge is now 0-for-9 with seven strikeouts against Sale in his career -- his most at-bats against any pitcher without a hit.Copyright © 2017, ABC Radio.
