This new live Hendrix release -- which captures a show he played with the Band of Gypsys -- comes courtesy of Experience Hendrix LLC and Legacy Recordings. Hendrix and the Band of Gypsys -- bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles -- played four historic concerts at Manhattan's Fillmore East: two on New Year's Eve of 1969 and two on New Year's Day of 1970. The majority of these performances have not been released, and this first show has never been available in its entirety. The 11 songs on Machine Gun include the first ever performance of the classic title track, as well as "Ezy Rider," Power of Soul" and "Changes," which finds Miles handling lead vocals.
