• The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats dropped their volleyball match to Flora 22-25, 25-16, 12-15 to fall to 6-2 on the season. The JV won 25-23, 21-25, 15-11 and the 6th grade earned a win 25-20, 25-17. Salem will host a round robin tournament tomorrow starting with Salem and Carlyle at 9:30.

  • The Salem 3rd grade Bobcats open up the Sandoval Tournament tonight when they take on Nashville at 5:45. The winner will play either Jordan or Waltonville tomorrow morning at 11am in the semifinals, the losers will play tonight at 8pm. The tournament will finish up with trophy games from Sandoval High School tomorrow afternoon.

  • The Salem Lady Wildcats will play for their first regional title since winning in 2014-15 as they punched their ticket last night with a 49-29 win over Centralia in the Mt Vernon 3A semifinals. Trinity Meadows scored 15 of her game-high 21 points in the opening half. Kasey Sager added 12 as Salem turned up the intensity in the 2nd half. The win improves Salem to 17-14 on the year.

  • The Salem Lady Wildcats will open up Regional play tonight as the 2 seed in their sub-sectional. They will try to beat Centralia for the 3rd time this season when they tip off from Mt Vernon High School at 6pm tonight on 100.1 FM and WJBDradio.com. Salem beat the Annies 39-26 in the season’s 2nd game for both teams during the Salem Thanksgiving Tournament. And were victorious again 47-36 on Jan. 27 at B.E. Gum. The other semifinal tonight from Chagnon will see Carbondale and Benton.

They will face off tomorrow night in the regional semifinals at Mt Vernon following Centralia’s 39-25 win over Mt Vernon in last night’s play-in game. Allie Fultz led the Annies with 10 points, Maddie Keele had 7 for Mt Vernon. The 2nd semifinal tomorrow night will feature Carbondale and Benton. The winners will play for the Class 3A regional title on Thursday night. Salem and Centralia will tip off from the Mt Vernon Regional tomorrow night at 6pm.
