  • The KC tennis program began this week. The men defeated the St Louis College of Pharmacey 8-1. Harrison Hines, Trevor Lee, Brett Barker and Quinn Camfield were the winners in singles along with Nick Harry and Blaze Taylor-Lutz. The doubles teams of Taylor-Lutz and Camfield were winners along with Harry and Gavin Cass.

  • The Salem Lady Wildcats punched their ticket to the Carbondale 3A sectionals last night with a 46-43 win over Carbondale at Chagnon Gym in Mt Vernon. Trinity Meadows scored 15 of her career-high 27 points in the 3rd quarter helping Salem overcome an 8 point 3rd quarter deficit and trailing by 4 late in the quarter, the senior came up big again getting fouled on a made 3 pointer and she would hit the free throw to tie the game.

  • The Salem Wildcats will travel to Carlyle tonight to finish up their inaugural run in the Cahokia Conference and with a win would clinch the conference crown.   • The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats dropped their volleyball match to Flora 22-25, 25-16, 12-15 to fall to 6-2 on the season. The JV won 25-23, 21-25, 15-11 and the 6th grade earned a win 25-20, 25-17. Salem will host a round robin tournament tomorrow starting with Salem and Carlyle at 9:30.

  • The Salem 3rd grade Bobcats open up the Sandoval Tournament tonight when they take on Nashville at 5:45. The winner will play either Jordan or Waltonville tomorrow morning at 11am in the semifinals, the losers will play tonight at 8pm. The tournament will finish up with trophy games from Sandoval High School tomorrow afternoon.
