Two people were injured in a single-car crash early Friday afternoon on Monroe Street east of Jolliff Bridge Road.

Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Greg Earle says the car ran off the road for an unknown reason and flipped several times before landing on the Norfolk-Southern Railroad tracks. He reports at least one of the two injured was ejected from the vehicle. No one was trapped inside. Both the driver and passenger were taken to SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia for treatment.

Earle says they remained on the scene until railroad officials and a Clinton County Sheriff's Deputy arrived on the scene.

Sheriff's Deputies have not yet completed a report on the wreck and the names of those injured were not immediately available.

The crash occurred around 12:30 Friday afternoon.

This car is believed to have flipped several times before coming to rest on the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks.
