Kinmundy To Remain In ILEAS

Smoke Testing of Sewer Lines to Begin Monday

The City of Kinmundy will remain a part of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System after the Board agreed to pay the $60 annual dues for continued membership. Police Chief Cory Parker explained to the board the ILEAS organization is a group of 900 municipalities that have mutual aid agreements to support disasters around the state.

In other action, the board was informed that preparation had begun for the smoking of the sewer lines that will begin on Monday. Work is funded by a grant received last year. The work will help determine what areas will need work immediately and in the near future.

The Board also agreed to purchase $800 in additional rock to put on Lagoon Road. In the Library Report, Karil Garrett reported that a recent donation in addition to finally receiving a Per Capita Grant that is 10 months late the Library is looking at purchasing $500 in new books, new carpet for the front of the building as well as a microwave and professional cleaning cart.
