Colorado Man Escapes Injury in Crash That Closed Eastbound I-64 Near Nashville for More Than 4 Hours

Semi Came to Rest on Its Side Across Both Eastbound Lanes

State Police say a 40-year-old Lakewood, Colorado man escaped injury Thursday morning when the semi he was driving went out of control and came to rest across both of the eastbound lanes of I-64 at milepost 53 east of the Nashville exit.

Preliminary investigative details indicate Anthony Partney initially traveled off the roadway to the right, striking a guardrail. He attempted to steer the semi back onto the roadway but lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn onto its passenger side across the eastbound lanes.

I-64 was closed for approximately four and a half hours for crash investigation and scene clean up beginning at 6:05 Thursday morning.

Partney was charged with improper lane usage.
