A 41-year-old Centralia man has been arrested for aggravated assault after allegedly aggressively coming towards a Marion County Sheriff's Deputy.

Jason Hoffman of Old Salem Road was reportedly tased three times before he was taken into custody after allegedly acting strangely at his home.

Deputies were called by a concerned family member who reported that Hoffman had a young child in a car preparing to leave. When deputies arrived, they were told Hoffman had been hitting the propane tank with a a large log and had thrown items at passing vehicles.

After telling Hoffman he couldn't leave with the child, he allegedly walked aggressively towards the deputy. He was eventually tased, causing him to fall to the ground. However, Hoffman reportedly was able to get back up and charged the deputy again resulting in the second tase. Before the deputy could handcuff Hoffman he had to be tased a third time.

On the way to the jail, Hoffman is accused of threatening to kill the deputy and others involved. A State Trooper joined the correctional staff at the jail in getting Hoffman inside where he remains pending a final decision on charges.

Kell Firemen and Marion County EMS were both called to the scene.
