Salem High School is getting ready for the start of the school year.

Student registration will be on August 9th and 11th from 9 am to 3 pm and on August 10th from 12 noon to 7 pm. Principal John Boles told the school board Monday night that the evening hours proved popular last year so they are being repeated this year.

Freshman orientation has been set for all incoming freshmen for August 15th. Boles says students will get tours, go through a mock day to their classes, and hear a presentation about clubs and given other information. It will begin at nine am with bus pickup and drop off from the Iuka, Selmaville, Kell and Raccoon Grade schools. The orientation day is scheduled to end at one pm. Students attending will get four iPad hours.

An August 17th open house from 6:30 to 8 pm is set for students and their parents to meet their teachers before the first student attendance day on August 18th.
