A 25-year-old Salem woman has been arrested for aiding or harboring a fugitive.

Shanan Reed of the 100 block of West Locust Street was taken into custody on the newly issued felony warrant when Salem Police went to her home on an ambulance call. When Reed refused treatment, police took her into custody. She was taken to the Marion County Jail where she remains Friday morning in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Salem Police say Reed was charged because on two occasions she allegedly falsely told Salem Police 21-year-old Dillon Fyke of 611 North Clay in Sandoval was not present. On the second occurrence January 31st, Marion County Jail officials were able to place Fyke in her home on the receiving end of a phone call from a jail inmate.

Police returned to the Reed home where Fyke was then taken into custody for questioning in a theft case and on an outstanding Marion County traffic warrant.

The Marion County State's Attorney's office elected not to file the theft charge.

Fyke posted $250 cash the following day on the outstanding warrant and was released.
