Salem Man Arrested for Sex Registration Violations. Two Arrested for DUI.

A 48-year-old Salem man was arrested by Salem Police Thursday for failure to complete sex offender registration and for residing within 500 feet of a playground. Police say Christopher Phillips of England Road had lived in a home in the 700 block of West Warmoth for a month without registering.

48-year-old Carl Hardig of North Miller Lake Lane in rural Texico was arrested by Marion County Sheriff's Deputies for driving under the influence and on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.

32-year-old Joshua Monroe of Salem posted $300 bond after being arrested by Salem Police following a traffic stop for driving under the influence.

25-year-old Chad Cochran of U.S. 50 in Sandoval posted $100 bond after being arrested on an outstanding Clay County felony warrant.

The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating a burglary to a shed on the Tony McClelland property on Phelps Road in rural Walnut Hill. McClelland says a bunch of tools were stolen sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
