A mobile home was destroyed by fire Thursday morning in Central City.
The fire had already spread through the Roxan Meyer home at 33 Marcel Drive by the time firemen arrived on the scene. Meyer and a second occupant were both sleeping when they were woke by their dog. The two were able to get out safely.
The cause of the fire will go down as undetermined. It began in the kitchen area.
Centralia Fire District officials say this is the second mobile home fire in the past week where the residents only got out after their dog woke them. The District encourages everyone to get smoke detectors or make sure their detectors have a good battery.
The fire call came in at 7:09 Wednesday morning. They remained on the scene until 9:30 am.
