Salem Man Faces Charges After Allegedly Knocking Mug Shot Camera from Correctional Officer's Hands
Jacob Erwin Faces Aggravated Battery and Criminal Damage to Property Charges
Bond has been set at $10,000 for a 25-year-old Salem man who has been charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and criminal damage to property.
Jacob Erwin of Shuler Road is accused of knocking the mug shot camera out of the hands of a correctional officer as he was booking Erwin in on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Sheriff's Department reports the camera fell the floor and had to be replaced.
Erwin had been brought to the jail by Marion County Sheriff's Deputies after he had been arrested for alleged driving under the influence, improper lane usage and for driving an uninsured vehicle.
In court Friday morning, Erwin indicated he would hire his own attorney. First appearance with an attorney was set for January 11th.
