ST. LOUIS - The Rams welcome former QB Kurt Warner and the defending NFC champion Cardinals to the Edward Jones Dome Sunday.
Arizona overcame an early 14-0 deficit to notch a 31-20 win over the Seahawks last Sunday. Kurt Warner threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns for the Cards, who have won five-of-six to move to 6-and-3 on the year.
The Rams hung with the unbeaten Saints for four quarters last week before suffering a 28-23 home loss to New Orleans. Steven Jackson had 176 yards from scrimmage and a TD for the Rams, who slipped to 1-and-8 with the loss.
The Cardinals have won the last five meetings between the teams. Yesterday the Rams asked the NFL for a 24-hour extension to sell their remaining tickets and avoid a TV blackout.
Meanwhile, defensive end C.J. Ah You suffered an ACL injury in practice Wednesday and is out for the season.
Eagles battle Bears on Sunday Night Football.
CHICAGO - A pair of teams going in the wrong direction will colide in Chicago when the Bears host the Philadelphia Eagles on "Sunday Night Football."
The Eagles are coming off a 31-23 loss to the Chargers in San Diego. Donovan McNabb was 35-of-55 for 450 yards and two touchdowns for Philadelphia, which has dropped two straight to fall to 5-and-4 on the year. Brian Westbrook suffered his second concussion of the year in last week's loss and will not play this Sunday.
Meantime, the Bears were 10-6 losers to the 49ers last Thursday night in San Francisco. Jay Cutler was intercepted five times for Chicago, which has also lost two in-a-row to slip to 4-and-5 on the season. Chicago clipped Philadelphia 24-20 when the teams met last year on "Sunday Night Football."
Ricky Williams puts pounding on Panthers.
CHARLOTTE - Ricky Williams and the Miami Dolphins are looking nothing like the team that opened the NFL season 0-and-3.
The Dolphins are back in the playoff mix at 5-and-5 after Williams ran for 199 yards and scored Miami's three touchdowns in a 24-17 triumph at Carolina. He scored on a 46-yard run moments after the panthers pulled within 17-14.
Williams came through a day after the Dolphins learned fellow running back Ronnie Brown would miss the rest of the season.
DeAngelo Williams had 122 rushing yards for the 4-and-6 Panthers.
Wilson willing to make changes.
BUFFALO - Bills owner Ralph Wilson tells The Associated Press he's prepared to revamp his entire football operation after the season and warns that no position is safe.
The 3-and-6 Bills already fired coach Dick Jauron Tuesday and replaced him with defensive coordinator Perry Fewell, who will serve as interim coach the rest of the season.
Wilson says he's open to making a lucrative offer to land a high-profile coach, although he discounts reports that the team is interested in interviewing former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.
Also in the NFL:
- Chris Simms took snaps with the Broncos' starters again Thursday, making it increasingly likely that he will start against San Diego on Sunday in place of Kyle Orton. Denver's No. 1 quarterback left last week's loss to Washington after spraining his left ankle and didn't return.
- The undefeated New Orleans Saints might be without running back Reggie Bush for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. Bush has missed two practices this week due to swelling in his knee after he ran for 83 yards and scored two touchdowns in St. Louis last Sunday. Saints coach Sean Payton would not say Thursday what Bush's chances of playing are this Sunday in Tampa Bay.
- Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis will miss his second straight game this weekend as he recovers from a concussion. Portis has not been able to practice since he was injured in a helmet-to-helmet hit against Atlanta.
