ST. LOUIS - The Blues look to snap a two-game skid tonight when they host the Phoenix Coyotes at Scottrade Center.  It's the fourth game of a six-game homestand for St. Louis, which has dropped seven of its last eight games overall.

The Blues are 6-8-and-4 on the season, in last place in the Central Division with 16 points, five behind the fourth-place Predators.  St. Louis is just 3-7-and-1 on home ice and lost 2-0 to Phoenix at Scottrade on Oct. 29th.  The Coyotes are 12-9-and-0.

On the ice:

  • Alex Auld made 31 saves, and Mike Ribeiro, Matt Niskanen and Loui Eriksson scored in the Dallas Stars' 3-1 victory over Detroit at Joe Louis Arena.  That ends the Red Wings' three-game win streak.  Brad Richards and James Neal each had two assists for the Stars.

  • Ryan Potulny and Patrick O'Sullivan scored third-period goals and the Edmonton Oilers overcame a two-goal deficit to beat Colorado 6-4.  The Avalanche was playing its second game in two nights.

  • Radim Vrbata had a goal and an assist in the Phoenix Coyotes' 3-2 victory over Minnesota.  Illya Bryzgalov made 24 saves.

  • Tomas Vokoun made 26 saves in the surging Florida Panthers' 6-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.  Michael Frolik scored twice.

  • Philadelphia beat the L.A. Kings 3-2.  Mike Richards scored his ninth goal and added a power-play assist.  The Flyers have won seven of eight.

Penguins lose another blue liner:

UNDATED - The injury-thinned Pittsburgh Penguins are down another player.  Defenseman Jay McKee has an infected finger that will keep him out two to four weeks.  He was hurt late in Pittsburgh's 5-2 win over Anaheim on Monday, and is the fifth of the team's top six defensemen to be sidelined since late October.

Elsewhere around the NHL:

  • The Washington Capitals expect left wing Quintin Laing to miss up to six weeks with a broken jaw, while left wing Alexander Semin is questionable with a right wrist injury.
