Salem City Series Game 2

By Toby Gullion

In Game two it was all about the pitching of Trent Geiler.  The 12-year-old South Central struck out 17 of the 18 outs in the game.  The lone non-k was a leadoff groundout in the first.

Geiler also helped himself with an RBI double in the first and scored on a double from Trevor Cummins.

With the game still tight at 2-0, the Pirates gave themselves some breathing room with three runs in the fifth which would turn out to be key.

Peoples National Bank didn't quit as Kaden Wayer and Nick Hess singled to start the sixth and Nate Roth reached on an error.  With two runs in, Geiler settled down and struck out the next three batters.
