Wise World of Wellen

  1. Hot water freezes faster than cold water. It's called the Mpemba Effect. (Pronounced mmm-PEM-buh.) The theory behind it is that the molecules in hot water are more stretched out, which allows them to release energy faster and freeze quicker.

  2. "Space Invaders" made $2.7 billion in revenue as an arcade game . . . which is around $10 billion if you adjust for inflation. That makes it the highest-grossing arcade game ever . . . just ahead of "Pac-Man".

  3. "The Dark Knight" was the first Batman movie that didn't have the word "Batman" in the title . . . or any bats in the movie.

  4. The first bitcoin purchase was on May 22nd, 2010 when a developer bought two pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins. Now that would be worth around $100 million.

  5. Stan Lee put a hyphen in the name "Spider-Man" because he didn't want people confusing him with Superman.
