Vince Young Released by Packers
(GREEN BAY, Wis.) -- Vince Young was cut for the second consecutive year on Saturday. Young signed with the Green Bay Packers in August, but failed to make the final cut.
"Thanks to the @packers for the opportunity great organization great team wonderful fans good luck this season," Young tweeted following the news.
Young was drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the third overall pick in 2006, but will have to try and sign on with another team or sit out another year.
Young played in all four Packers preseason games and was 14 of 30 passes for 144 yards in their final game against the Chiefs.
The Packers are going with two quarterbacks on their roster. Pro-Bowler Aaron Rodgers and backup quarterback B.J. Coleman.
