Richardson: Brady's Not Superman
(FLORHAM PARK, N.J.) -- In the wake of their AFC East showdown on Sunday, New York Jets rookie defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson added some fuel to the fire on Wednesday when he called out Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
"I'm not treating him like Superman," Richardson said. "He's Tom Brady; I'm Sheldon Richardson. He's a name. He's a figure, a franchise player. I'm trying to get after him, simple as that. No one really treats him like [Superman] around here. I think he's the complete opposite of that."
The Patriots defeated the Jets in week two, 13-10, but head coach Rex Ryan hopes this time will be different.
"We think we have a good plan in place, but at the same time, you've got to respect the fact that this team has won it [AFC East title] every year," Ryan said on Wednesday. "Belichick and all those guys, absolutely we respect them, but we fear none of them. I can promise you that."
Brady has a 18-4 career record against the Jets.
