Report: Accomplice Says Aaron Hernandez Admitted to Shooting Odin Lloyd
(NEW YORK) -- One of the alleged accomplices in the Aaron Hernandez case, Carlos Ortiz, says he was told that Hernandez said he shot and killed Odin Lloyd.
Ortiz told police that Ernest Wallace, another alleged accomplice, told him the day after the shooting that Hernandez admitted to killing Lloyd. This knowledge stems from court documents that were released Tuesday.
Lloyd was shot near Hernandez's home in North Attleborough, Massachusetts. After his death, Ortiz and Wallace returned to Bristol, Connecticut. According to the court documents, that is where Wallace told Ortiz that Hernandez was the one who pulled the trigger.
The weapon used to kill Lloyd has still not been recovered.
Hernandez was charged with the murder of Lloyd, but has pleaded not guilty.
