Raiders Quarterback Terrelle Pryor Makes Unexpected Confession

Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- When the Oakland Raiders selected former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor in the supplemental draft, the team knew he was raw. But Pryor admits that his quarterback skills needed some serious work.

"I never really knew how to throw a football before," Pryor admitted. "It's coming along. I'm getting way better. I probably missed four or five throws out of 80, 85 throws today. I might ice my arm as a precaution tonight, but it feels great."

The Raiders used a third-round pick to select Pryor, who was a productive college player during his time as a Buckeye.

But his time as a pro hasn't been very kind to Pryor. He's played sparingly as the team continues to develop him. Part of the reason he might have trouble getting on the field is because he's still learning the position. Pryor has thrown just 30 attempts his entire NFL career, all coming last season.

Against the San Diego Chargers in Week 17, Pryor received his first real NFL action on an expanded basis. But he was just 13-28 passing, which is a 46.4 completion percentage.

Pryor has reportedly been focusing on improving his throwing motion and becoming a better passer. He is battling Matt Flynn and Tyler Wilson for the Raiders starting quarterback job.
