Patriots Snag RB Tyler Gaffney
(NEW YORK) -- Just days after being waived by the Carolina Panthers after suffering a season-ending knee injury, running back Tyler Gaffney was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Gaffney injured his knee during practice Friday and will need to undergo surgery.
Gaffney was selected in the sixth round of this year's draft by the Panthers.
During his senior season at Stanford, the 6-foot-1, 221 pound Gaffney rushed for 1,709 yards and 21 touchdowns.
