Noel Out for Season with Torn ACL
(LEXINGTON, Ky.) -- In big blow to the Wildcats, Kentucky forward Nerlens Noel will miss the remainder of the season after an MRI on Wednesday revealed he tore the ACL in his left knee.
Noel was injured in Tuesday night's loss to Florida after he landed awkwardly and slammed his knee into the basket support. Noel was chasing down Florida's Mike Rosario on a fast break and attempted to block his shot with 8:03 left in the game.
"Minor setback for a MAJOR comeback! I love you all and can't thank y'all enough for the prayers," Noel tweeted on Wednesday.
Noel was leading the nation in blocks per game (106) and was also considered a potential No. 1 pick in the NBA draft.
