NFC Championship Game Preview: 49ers @ Falcons
(ATLANTA) -- The San Francisco 49ers head to Atlanta Sunday to take on the top seeded Atlanta Falcons in the NFC championship game.
The second seeded Niners, who are playing in their second straight championship game, defeated the Green Bay Packers 45-31 last weekend, to advance to Atlanta.
Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick rushed for a quarterback record 181 yards in the win.
"When you have a quarterback that can get out of the pocket, run, pick up first downs that's a threat that the defense has to account for," 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said of Kaepernick.
As for the Falcons, they beat the Seattle Seahawks in a thriller last weekend, giving Atlanta its first playoff win under head coach Mike Smith.
Despite having home field advantage, Vegas still has the Falcons as underdogs.
"We're used to it," Falcons receiver Roddy White said when talking about being an underdog. "I guess if we won a Super Bowl then everybody would take us serious. Until then, we got to just go out and try to win these games and get to what we set our goals to and that is to get to the Super Bowl."
The Falcons and Niners square off Sunday, with kickoff set for approximately 2:00 p.m Central time.
