Mikey Garcia Stops Juan Manuel Lopez In The Fourth Round
(DALLAS) -- Despite having to vacate his WBO featherweight championship after failing to make weight, Mikey Garcia (32-0, 27KOs) stopped Juan Manuel Lopez (33-3) in the fourth round Saturday night at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas.
Garcia came into the fight weighing 128 pounds, which is two pounds over the featherweight limit, while Lopez was weighed at 125 1/2.
The 25-year-old Garcia won the fight after sending Lopez crashing to the canvas with a strong left-hand at 1:34 into the fourth round. Lopez managed to get to his feet but referee Rafael Ramos called for the bell.
Garcia landed 53 punches while Lopez connected only on 23.
