Matt Barkley Confident Headed into Pro Day

Jeff Gross/Getty Images(INDIANAPOLIS) -- Former USC quarterback Matt Barkley is preparing for April’s NFL Draft.

Barkley’s career at USC came to an unfortunate end when he separated his shoulder against UCLA last season, but said he will be ready come his pro day.

“I’ve been in great hands,” Barkley said on Friday.  “I should be perfect to throw.”

Barkley finished last season with 36 touchdown passes, but also threw 15 interceptions, the most in his four-year career.

When asked if he is the best quarterback in this year’s draft, Barkley said, “I believe I am. I don’t think you can go into a draft not thinking you are.”

Barkley believes he is a tradition-style quarterback and is confident he has enough speed to get out of the pocket.

His pro day will be on March 27.
