Lebron James Says Heat's Quest for Three-Peat Wearing Team Down
(NEW YORK) -- Even though they have one of the best records in the NBA, Miami Heat forward Lebron James says that team is wearing down in their quest for a three-peat.
"It's a long a grueling season for all of us, not just because we're the champs," James said. "We've played a lot of basketball in our four years together. It's taken a lot of wear and tear on all our bodies. It's mentally fatiguing. And you just try to find the motivation the best way you can as an individual and as a collective group."
The Miami Heat have a 27-10 record, which is the second-best in the Eastern Conference, despite back-to-back losses to the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.
James is having another stellar season for the Heat this season. He's averaging 26.0 points, 6.5 assists and 6.6 rebounds per game on .591 percent shooting.
The Heat have made it to the NBA Finals the past three seasons with James.
