ESPN: Teams Attempting to Trade for 49ers Guard Alex Boone
(NEW YORK) -- Several NFL teams have approached the San Francisco 49ers to see if the team is interested in trading holdout guard Alex Boone, according to ESPN.
Boone has been holding out since the beginning of the offseason. Sources say the two sides are far apart on a new deal and that Boone is willing to stay away from the 49ers until he receives a new contract.
The 27-year-old Boone has two seasons remaining on his current deal that will pay him about a total of $4 million.
Trading Boone will likely be a last resort for the 49ers. He has developed into one of the better guards in the NFL and the team would like to work out a contract extension with him.
