Curtis Granderson Breaks Forearm, Out Until May

Leon Halip/Getty Images(TAMPA, Fla) --  New York Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson suffered a fractured right forearm in a spring training game and will be out until at least May.

Granderson was hit by a pitch in his first at-bat of the spring by Blue Jays hurler J.A. Happ.  The injury was initially announced as a bruise, but X-rays revealed the fracture.

"Five pitches in we got a little setback," Granderson said while wearing a molded brace. "Now we rest, recovery, get it back, and get ready to play whenever that day comes."

Since being acquired from the Detroit Tigers in a three-team deal before the 2010 season, Granderson has been the starting centerfielder for the Yankees.  He is entering his fourth season in pinstripes.

The 31-year-old has hit 84 home runs in the past two seasons, 10 more than any other MLB player.
