Clippers capture 17th straight win... Five straight for the SpursUNDATED (AP) - Make it 17 straight victories for the torrid Los Angeles Clippers. Caron Butler's game-high 29 points led the Clippers to a 107-96 win over the Utah Jazz. Butler made all six of his 3-point attempts.
The Clippers went 16-0 in December to join the 1995-95 San Antonio Spurs and 1971-72 Lakers as the only teams to go undefeated over a month. Their franchise-record winning streak is the longest since Boston won 19 in a row four years ago.
Just 15 teams in NBA history have had a winning streak as long as 17 games, the last being the Houston Rockets' 22-game run in 2007-08.
In other NBA action:
- Tony Parker had 21 points and nine assists, Manu Ginobili had 20 points and the San Antonio Spurs handed the Dallas Mavericks their sixth straight loss, 111-86. The Spurs have won five in a row.
- Tayshaun Prince made two free throws with 10.9 seconds left to give Detroit a 96-94 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks after the Pistons blew a 14-point lead. Prince scored 20 points, and Greg Monroe added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Detroit.
-- Sacramento routed Boston 111-96. Isaiah Thomas scored 27 points as the Kings handed the Celtics their third straight lopsided loss on their California road trip.
