Clemson Beats Wake Handily, "Honey Badger" and 3 Other LSU Players ArrestedWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -Clemson used a quick-strike big-play offense to open a 35-0 lead and cruised past overmatched Wake Forest 42-13.
Tajh Boyd threw for a school-record 428 yards with five touchdown passes for the 14th-ranked Tigers. Sammy Watkins added a school-record 202 yards receiving. Boyd was 27 of 38 and connected with Watkins for three plays of 50 or more yards, including a 61-yarder for a score. Watkins finished with eight catches. Boyd added touchdown throws of 9 yards to Brandon Ford, 12 yards each to Sam Cooper and DeAndre Hopkins and 2 yards to Charone Peake.
Meanwhile, Police say they arrested four former LSU football players, including one-time Heisman Trophy finalist Tyrann Mathieu, after finding them with marijuana at Mathieu's apartment. Baton Rouge police say they also arrested ex-LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson, and former defensive backs Derrick Bryant and Karnell Hatcher. Mathieu is a cornerback known as the "Honey Badger." He was dismissed from the Tigers in August for failing a drug test.
