Chipper Jones Squashes Rumors That He's Coming Out of Retirement

There have been whispers that if the Braves need a third baseman early in the season, Jones might be tempted to end his retirement early. Jones says it will not happen.

"I'm well-adjusted, and there's no going back," Jones said. "I've had my time and I don't think people really realize what kind of preparation it takes to get yourself ready to play this game at this level."

"I'd have to start working out now to get ready for June," Jones added, "and that's not happening."

The 40-year-old Jones is serving as a guest hitting instructor for a few days at the Braves spring training facility.

One of the greatest players to put on a Braves uniform, Jones hit 468 home runs during his career, all with the Braves.
