Boeheim Alone as Number Two
UNDATED (AP) - Jim Boeheim is allalone as the second-winningest coach in Division I men's basketball.
Boeheim moved ahead of Bob Knight
with his 903rd victory as seventh-ranked Syracuse ripped Rutgers 78-53. Brandon
Triche drained five three-pointers and scored a season-high 25 points to lead
the Orange to their 33rd consecutive home victory and a 13-1 record. Michael
Carter-Williams finished with 12 points and 10 assists for Syracuse, which held
Myles Mack scoreless and improved to 13-1.
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski remains
37 wins ahead of Boeheim after the top-ranked Blue Devils completed a 67-50 win
over Davidson in Charlotte. Ryan Kelly scored 18 points for the Blue Devils,
who were tied at intermission before opening the second half on a 12-0 run.
Quinn Cook finished with 15 points for the 13-0 Blue Devils.
