Angels' Josh Hamilton Takes Shot at Dallas Fort-Worth Area Fans

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images(SURPRISE, Ariz.) -- While playing with the Texas Rangers, outfielder Josh Hamilton established himself as one of the superstars of the game. Now with the Los Angeles Angels, Hamilton says the Dallas Fort-Worth area is not a true baseball town.

"There are true baseball fans in Texas, but it's not a true baseball town," Hamilton told a Dallas Fort Worth CBS TV station.

"They're supportive," Hamilton said when asked about the fans, "but they also got a little spoiled at the same time pretty quickly."

Hamilton joined the Rangers in 2008 and since then he's been one of the best power hitters in all of baseball. He also helped lead the Rangers to consecutive World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011.

Still, his final weeks with the team may end up defining his career there. The Rangers suffered a late-season collapse and not only lost their hold of the AL West division title, they lost their wild-card playoffs game against the Orioles where Hamilton went 0-4.
