Al Harris Will Retire a Packer

Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images(GREEN BAY, Wis.) -- The Green Bay Packers announced Wednesday that cornerback Al Harris will retire as a Packer.

The 38-year-old Harris was traded from the Eagles to the Packers in March of 2003. He played in 102 games in seven seasons with Green Bay, nabbing 14 interceptions, and set the Packers single-season record for passes defended (stat has been tracked since 1982) in 2004 with 28.

Harris played in 175 straight games before lacerating his spleen in 2008, forcing him to miss the first four games of the season.

Harris made two Pro Bowls in his 13 season career with Philadelphia, Green Bay, Miami and St. Louis. Harris played his last season in 2011 for the Rams.

Harris is currently an assistant secondary coach for the Kansas City Chiefs.
