Adrian Peterson Wants to Shatter Rushing Record
(NEW YORK) -- In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said he feels he can shatter the all-time rushing record. He told the magazine that he's got a goal set at 2,500 yards, which would crush Eric Dickerson's record of 2,105.
"It's definitely out there. I feel like it's definitely attainable," Peterson told the NFL Network. "... Enjoy this last year because the record's going down, with ease."
Peterson fell nine yards short of Dickerson's record last season, but also has set out goals for the team.
"I want a couple rings," Peterson said. "We've got to start at one and we need to get that one this year. We have the potential to get to the Super Bowl and win. It's just all about coming together."
