(Coral Gables, Fla.) -- The Tar Heels walked into a Hurricane.
Miami guard Shane Larking scored a game high 18 points while dishing out a career best nine assists, as the eighth-ranked Hurricanes decimated North Carolina, 87-61.
Miami (19-3, 10-0 ACC) was on fire, shooting 54% from the field while tying a school record 15 3-pointers.
Miami also set a school record by winning its tenth ACC game.
"We have a lot of hungry guys who've never played in the NCAA Tournament before," Miami head coach Jim Larranaga said. "They want to get there, and when they get there they want to make some noise. So they've been preparing hard every day at practice and for every game."
The loss breaks North Carolina's (16-7, 6-4 ACC) three game winning streak.
