(MANHATTAN, Kan.) -- Kansas State is all alone atop the Big 12.

The 13th-ranked Wildcats used a balanced attack to defeat Iowa State, 79-70 to give them the lead in the Big 12 conference with a matchup with 5th-ranked Kansas looming.

Four players scored in double figures for the Wildcats (19-4), including 22 points from guard Rodney McGruder. The offense was clicking for Kansas State, as they shot 50 percent from the floor and made nine three-pointers.

Up by just one at the half, Kansas State got 17 second-chance points in the second half to bend the will of Iowa State.

Iowa State (16-7) got 16 points from Michigan State transfer Korie Lucious, but it was not enough to win on the road.
