Northeast, Midwest Brace for Heat Wave this Week
(NEW YORK) -- This week is slated to be the hottest one of the summer so far for many parts of the Northeast and Midwest.
Already, Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings have been issued for eight states, all the way from Vermont to Delaware.
On Monday, temperatures are expected to hit a high of 89 in Portland, Maine; 90 in Boston; and 95 in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. But if you factor in humidity, it will feel closer to 100 degrees.
The hot weather is expected to last into Friday, with the heat wave expanding to the Midwest on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures are forecast to hit the mid 90s in Chicago by Wednesday.
