College Football Bowl Game Wrap-Up

UNDATED (AP) - Clemson was the winner of the Chick-fil-A Bowl after scoring a touchdown and a field goal in the final 2:47. Chandler Catanzaro kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired to give the 14th-ranked Tigers a wild 25-24 win over No. 9 LSU. Tajh Boyd completed a pass for 26 yards to DeAndre Hopkins on a fourth-and-16 play during the decisive 10-play drive. The game-winning kick came after Clemson missed a potential game-tying, two-point conversion following Boyd's TD pass to Hopkins with 2:47 to play. Boyd completed 36 of 50 passes for 346 yards with two touchdowns for the Tigers, who trailed 24-13 entering the fourth quarter. Hopkins had three receptions during the game-winning drive and finished with 13 catches for 191 yards and two TDs. Clemson finishes 11-2 while LSU ends up 10-3.

Southern California's disappointing season ends on a down note as the top team in the AP preseason poll got beat 21-7 by Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl. Tevin Washington snapped a 7-7 tie with a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter before he found Orwin Smith for a 17-yard TD with 13:11 remaining. The Yellow Jackets rushed for 294 yards on 63 carries and finished the season 7-7 by stopping a seven-bowl losing streak. The Trojans end the year 7-6.

Jordan Rodgers threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Vanderbilt Commodores capped their best season in nearly a century Monday by beating North Carolina State 38-24 in the Music City Bowl. The Commodores finished 9-4 for their best record since going 9-1 in 1915, and it's only the third time the smallest and only private university in the Southeastern Conference has won as many as nine games in a season. They also finished with seven straight wins, their longest streak since winning eight in 1948. N.C. State wrapped up a 7-6 season under interim coach Dana Bible.

Tulsa won the Liberty Bowl as Alex Singleton ran for three touchdowns to lead at 31-17 victory over Iowa State. Singleton's three scores gave him a school-record 24 touchdown runs this season. Trey Watts rushed for 149 yards and the Golden Hurricane erased a 17-7 deficit in posting the second 11-win season in school history.
