They won six consecutive regional titles and were crowned

sectional champs the last four years, but will not repeat as state champions.

The Woodlawn Cardinals were bounced from the sectional semifinals Tuesday

night, losing 64-60 to Oblong. Trailing by eight (21-13) with 6:27 to play

before halftime, the Cardinals went on a 10-0 run in the next two and a half

straight points to regain a lead they would not relinquish. Woodlawn senior

Gabe Owens scored 19 points. Other Cardinal seniors Kris Harlow and Matt

Kennedy finished with eleven and ten points, respectively. The Woodlawn

Cardinals end their season with a 26-4 record.
