Wildcats Kick Off Football Practice Today

SALEM - The Salem Wildcats will officially begin football practice today with 17 days until the Shrine Game at Centralia to kick off the season.

Salem is coming off a 2-7 season a year ago, but with several returners and a few new faces on the roster for head coach Kevin Greene, Salem should be in contention to be real competitive this season. 

After Centralia, Salem will face schedule newcomers Highland on the road and then their first home game in week 3 with Jerseyville.  

Salem then opens up the Apollo with the conference favorite this season Taylorville on the road followed by home games with Effingham and Mattoon. 

Salem then hits the road in weeks 7 and 8 when they are at Mt Zion and Charleston before closing down with a home game against Freeburg in week 9.
