Wildcats Fall to Hot Handed TigersThe Salem Wildcats ran into a buzzsaw on Senior Night at East Richland as the Olney Tigers hit eight three-pointers in the first half, running out to a 37-22 lead at the break. They would play just about even in the second half on the way to a Tigers 64-50 victory over the Wildcats, dropping Salem to 3-18 on the season. Olney improves to 14-13.
Salem Junior Nick Conklin was once again hot from the start, finishing the game with 24 points despite fouling out with just over three minutes to play in the contest. Nick Hempen had twelve points, ten of those coming in the second half.
Tate Noren knocked down four three-pointers to lead his team with 17 points. Alex St. Pierre and Evan Eagleson each added 14 apiece.
Salem struggled to get to the foul line, going only 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. Olney was 12-of-17 from the free-throw line.
Salem returns to action Friday night at Effingham.
