Warriors Wrestle Hard At Knox Invite
(GALESBURG) - Eight Rend Lake College wrestlers competed Nov. 10 at the Knox Invite in Galesburg, IL.Gabriel Bartok (Carbondale) lost a 12-2 major decision in his first 133-pound match and a 4-2 decision in his second match. Also at 133, RLC's Darrell Pampkin (Florrisant, Mo.) lost an 11-10 decision in his first match before winning his next three, losing a 4-2 decision in the semifinal and taking sixth place after a 6-5 decision.
Three Rend Lake wrestlers competed in the 141-pound division. Skyler Procasky (Belleville) lost his first match 3-1 and fell 13-3 in the wrestlebacks. Eric Tozzi (Ramseur, N.C.) also lost his first match and fell in the wrestlebacks, as did Bryce Vaughn (Canton).
Gary Walliser (Coranito City) lost his first match at 157 in a 4-3 decision and lost by fall in his second match.
Austin Warren (Newburgh, Ind.) won his first match by forfeit at 184 pounds, but lost to his second-round opponent in a 5-4 decision.
Coltyn Pease (Pittsfield) won his first match in an 11-2 major decision before losing 5-3 decision to his second opponent. Pease then fought through the wrestlebacks, winning three of his next four matches, to finish fifth in the heavyweight class.
Rend Lake's wrestling team will compete at the Joe Parisi Open, Nov. 17, in St. Charles, Mo.
