South Central Boys Win, Girls LoseThe South Central Cougars picked up a 45-41
win on their home court last night, sending Patoka back out into the cold with
the loss. Patoka had a one-point advantage after the first quarter, but the
Cougars came back to take a 23-18 lead at halftime as the second quarter proved
to be pivotal in deciding the winner, as Patoka out-scored South Central in the
second half by a point, not enough to overcome the halftime deficit. Rudy
Hablewitz and Fischer Tharp each had twelve points for South Central, who is
now 7-15 overall. The Cougars travel to Windsor Friday night.
The South Central Lady Cougars will
enter post-season play without a win after losing to Wayne City last night
61-28. Macie Cain had eighteen points for the 0-24 Lady Cougars, who will face
Ramsey Monday night in the Farina Regional. That game is scheduled for 7:30.
