Sonics Win in Rain Shortened TourneyThe Centralia SuperSonics started bracket play of the West Frankfort Tournament Sunday as the third seed, and used that standing to defeat the Diamondbacks 4-0.
Chloe Wendling was the winning pitcher. Brooke Burcham went 2-2 to lead the Sonics at the plate. Lauren Heinzmann had a triple and Kameron Kelly,
Casey Little, and Sydney Hoerchler all added hits in the win.
Rain forced the cancellation of the rest of the tournament, but not before Centralia played a half inning against the SI Express. Kelly had a triple while Bailey Spears and Wendling had singles.
The SuperSonics are now 25-7 and are back in action Wednesday at Fairfield.
