Shoes Use Long Ball to Topple Cougars
Shoes beat South Central 15-4 in six innings Monday afternoon.
A grand slam in the third inning and a three-run shot in the
fifth would have been enough for T-Town, but the visitors scored runs in every
inning but the second, touching two Cougar pitchers for a combined twelve hits.
Dan Diss started the game for South Central and took the
loss. He pitched four innings, giving up twelve runs on eight hits. Diss walked
seven and struck out three before Kyle Bray took over in the fifth inning. Bray
walked two, giving up four hits and three runs over two innings.
Bray helped the Cougars get on the board in the first inning
with a two-run blast that cut the Shoes lead to 3-2. Bray added another hit in
the game and Noah Powless and Shawn Meyer also had hits for South Central.
The Cougars are 5-9 and host Effingham on Wednesday.
