Sandoval, Odin & Patoka Each Earn Baseball Wins

The Sandoval Blackhawks won their 6th game of the season 8-4 in extra innings over Noble/Clay City.  Garren Orrell went the distance striking out 11.  Brandon Skibinski led the way with 3 hits including a home run and 4 RBI.  Orrell had 2 hits and 2 runs scored while Jordan Johnson had 2 RBI.  Johnson was also named to the Midland Trail All-Conference team and Matt Kibler was honorable mention.

The Odin Eagles defeated Cisne 9-6.  Chase Horton hit a 2-run home run, Gavin Wood hit a solo shot and Devin Williams had an RBI.  Williams also worked 5.1 innings on the mound for the win.  Wood came in and got the save.

Patoka got a solid start from Johnnie Clift on the mound earning the 5-1 win over Woodlawn.  Jason Hapeman took the loss.  Patoka improved to 12-9 on the season.  

In other action:

- Mater Dei routed Metro East Lutheran 11-0.  

- Columbia clinched the Cahokia Conference's Mississippi Division baseball title beating Wesclin 4-2.

-  Carlyle was 2nd in the Mississippi Division after a 5-1 win over Breese Central.  John Becker tossed a five-hitter and the Indians improved to 21-5.

- Nashville used 3 home runs, including a grand slam by Bryce Styninger to plate 8 runs in the first inning and held on to beat Waterloo Gibault 11-8.
